The house
takes advantage of natural sources of energy both activley and passively.
Overhangs keep the sun out in the summer and admit it in the winter.
A radiant heated concrete slab and high mass walls act as a heat sink
to retain the energy when needed. The abundant natural breezes running
up the hill are routed through the house to cool it in the hot weather.
The primary heating source is a geothermal system using well water.
A cistern is designed to collect rainwater for irrigation.
